Firm Profile

blue background 3 small.jpgFounded by Ken Tharp, the mission of Iowa Equity Exchange is to serve investors and business property owners with integrity, precision, and security. As a real estate investor since 1979, I have been in your shoes. I have realized the benefits of Section 1031 exchanges for my own real estate portfolio, and I have also experienced the same concerns about whether my exchange was being dealt with correctly and whether my funds were going to be there when I needed them. Our pledge to you is that your exchange will be handled with integrity and precision, and the funds in your account will remain secure and 100% liquid throughout the exchange period.

My career in real estate began with earning a real estate license in 1978. Since that time, I have owned and operated a property management company, a custom home-building operation, and rehabbed and renovated countless properties. Over the entire time span, I have owned and managed my own small portfolio of properties.

At Iowa Equity Exchange, our commitment is to provide exchangers with the highest level of expertise in the industry. Our services are designed to provide the utmost security for funds held and to maintain the integrity of every exchange.  IRS bldg.jpg

A Qualified Intermediary has the very specific role of guiding the investor through a §1031 exchange. We inform our clients of exchange requirements, produce the necessary exchange documents, provide the critical time monitoring procedures required, and secure the invested funds while in our possession. We work with our clients' tax advisors and attorneys to tailor our services to the individual client's specific, unique needs. We would be honored to assist you.
